$15 DVD
A good quality video recording of the premiere cast of A Christmas Karl, December 2004. Includes all songs, large ghost puppet and staging suggestions. Approx. 80 min.

$35 Script and Score
Includes the 50-page script (4 characters, two scenes, simple set). This is a polished version. The playwright and composer saw several performances and made improvements. The complete score has 9 songs, including the opening Carol of the Malls.

$10 CD
Includes instrumental accompaniment of all songs, plus an additional opening medley suitable for opening the performance.

$10 Poster & Promo kit
This is a full-colour poster in an easy-to-copy size (8 1/2" x 11"), with plenty of space for local producers to add performance times, location and directors and/or actors. Also copies well in black and white. This kit includes a sample press release to send to media, bulletin announcements for churches, clippings from newspapers and an idea sheet for a display board.

From the first season of A Christmas Karl (back in 2004), this includes a half-page, colour insert with three "clip-and-give" gift coupons. Who knows, this may become a collectors’ item. Free with every order, while quantities last.

In a nutshell, the basic plot

Will the Ghost of Christmas Future have its way?

Chase Doerksen, a deadly-earnest, anti-consumer activist, decides to visit Abby, her mall-worn mother, in her dreams. She recruits her culture-savvy boyfriend, Simon.

Reluctant to adopt her agenda, he tags along as his affection for her is put to the test. An exuberant Chase is vulnerable to the guidance of Karl, a homeless person who fashions himself as an angel with a message that someone is dying.

Chase's nocturnal visit to her mom backfires and mayhem ensues. Will mother and daughter unite? Will the Ghost of Christmas Future have its way? This is a brand new Christmas pageant - complete with Broadway-style songs - it promises to be a modern classic.

Especially written for Buy Nothing Christmas, the musical is available to local producers who want to provide a drama that both entertains and asks tough questions.
